On September 26th 2009 the first annual Wake Forest Irish festival will be held at Festival Park
Wake Forest NC.
In proud and loving memory of two young men who shared a passion on this earth for writing, The arts Music & Poetry. They left behind a legacy of the written word. So for them we are proud to add the following events to the Irish festival.
Andrew was exceptionally proud of his Irish Heritage, so much so, that he made sure it was front and center on his bio at all times.
1st Prize is $500 Cash
Dinner for 2 at Tir Na nOg Irish Pub plus a conference with Linda Cashdan from The word process: Linda provides Editorial Guidance for would be writers. & Andrew found her advise invaluable throughout his writing career.
Winning story & Poem will be published to this site and the Graham Johnson Endowment Fund site for viewing.
When we decided to do a short story competition for The Irish festival it was fitting that it would be in Andrews honor. Entry fee is $15 per story. Entries can be sent to Annie Nice 1417-B wake Forest Road Raleigh NC 27604. Make sure you include your email address and Contact info. ALL entries must be in before 9/1/09
Winners will be announced at The Festival On September 26th at 5pm
The judges include Belfast poet founder of Abby Press Ireland. & Literature epert from Duke university at Chapel Hill Professor Gary Crites.
Plus check or money order for $15 Made payable to The Andrew Britton Foundation
The Poetry Competition in honor of
